Last week, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Julius Genachowski named Karen Peltz Strauss as Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) Deputy Bureau Chief. The CGB develops and implements FCC consumer policies, including disability access. Karen will focus on disability issues and will help the FCC implement the disability access components of the National Broadband Plan, including leading the effort to develop the Accessibility and Innovation Forum.
The VRSCA extends a warm welcome and congratulation to Deputy Chief Strauss and is thrilled that the FCC selected someone with an extensive knowledge and background in the world of TRS for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
